The art of typewriting

The art of typewriting a letter has fallen to the die-hards who still refuse to use a computer. There are those rare few who still use a manual typewriter instead of a computer, an ancient contraption that most of today's generation probably do not know existed.

I found an article in the local newspaper about a shop that caters to those who refuse to give up on those ancient contraptions that hammer out words faster than lighting (depending upon the fingers speed) without the benefit of spell-check!

I love typewriters! My father gave me a Royal typewriter that is quite old. I need to do a bit more research on it to find out the age. In July, I obtained another typewriter, a Smith-Corona. I am sure that the age on that one has to be from the 1950's. Both typewriters are manuals and use ribbons. I remember an electric typewriter that my Mom used to have that I loved to play on when I was younger. I remember the ball twirling around and around as I pounded upon the keys!

Enjoy the article and have a great evening!

We have a shop like that in our city. Every month they hold a letter writing club with a table full of paper, envelopes and typewriters!

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! I would love to do something like that just for the sheer fun of it! Thanks for stopping by!
