Who doesn't love trees?
They are the center of our childhood days that allowed us to climb higher and farther, away from the troubles of those long summer days!
I came across this article of a tree that was at least 240 years old. This magnificent piece of history had been cared for by a gentleman who is 101! This poor tree has seen its days, and is slated for removal due to a devastating disease that the gentleman had tried to keep at bay for this tree since 1956.
I normally would not promote a news story, but I became more intrigued by the article considering that the tree is going to be recycled in a unique way. I cannot wait to read more about the by-products which will be produced by local artists in the area that this tree has resided. Enjoy the article and tell me what you think!

What a neat gentleman, and I applaud the town for coming up with terrific ideas on keeping Herbie alive in art, salad bowls, etc....
